FrontPage is popular software and unfortunately FP is still used by many webmasters.

Microsoft announced that there will be NO releases after FrontPage 2003 and adviced FP users to switch to MS Expression, and for that FrontPage Web Extension producers (RTR.com) stopped any new releases for their FP web Extension for Linux

So even if Microsoft abandoned their software, we still offer FP web extension to our users AND recommend them to switch to newer software.

FP web extension provide 2 major group of functions:

1. Publishing functions (With or without FTP).
2. WebBots, which is small web component that execute some interactive features of websites made with FP, like forms and counters

* For Publishing, You still can publish your website developed with FrontPage using the embedded FTP functions of FrontPage, please check this tutorial for more details:

* For WebBots, From examples we see with our customers’ websites, we do support all of them, however, our tech support efforts in webBots debugging will stop at trying to Re-Install FP extension in the hosting account.

That being said, if you have problem in running webbots, then we will try to reinstall the web-extension on the hosting account to fix the problem, but we do not have any resources to further help.

The good thing about this plug-in is it does not use CAPTCHA or any other annoying methods to stop spam bots, also it need zero configuration.

 Installation is very easy, download the plug-in and put it in /wp-content/plugins folder, then activate it from wordpress admin panel … that’s all to ‘enjoy a spam-free WordPress blog’ 

By time I think we will drop the regular admin area and let all customers use this panel to manage their hosting accounts, Please note, this tool is on its early development stage, so your comments and suggestions will help us improving it, for comments and suggestions, just comment on this blog post.

In fact we are always available, but support agents are busy with another chat sessions and that’s the problem! .. this tool is misused.

The main purpose of chat support is to offer fast hints and fixes, a ping-pong style conversation:

customer 1: Is there a way to disable visitors from certain IP to visit my website?
support: sure, check cpanel > IP deny manager.

customer 2: my website xy.com looks down!?
support: yes, we are rebooting this server, will be up after 3 minutes.

and so on, but the fact is, the average length of chat sessions from logs is:  26 minutes!

so, in average, every support seat (seat = 3 x 8 hours shifts) can answer around 50 chat requests per day .. this is not enough and customers are not happy.

so we decided to discontinue this support tool by the first of August 2008 and  keep the helpdesk ticket system only, from our logs, I see high satisfaction rate in tickets, the support agents take their time to read, escalate and answer tickets .. they are doing good job and I guess it will be much better without the disturbing of chat requests.
